The 22-250 Remington calibre cartridge, introduced in 1965, fires a high-velocity bullet. It is a 22-calibre rifle cartridge that is mainly used for varminting and hunting small game; it is also employed for stalking or in hides against small mammals such as deer. The 22-250 calibre started as a wildcat cartridge, i.e. a non-standardised cartridge developed from another calibre. Winchester offers a range of three very high-performance loads in the 22-250 Remington calibre, which is one of the most powerful in its category.
The 22-250 calibre is also excellent target-shooting ammunition at ranges of up to 300 metres.
